SUMMARY:Basic Polygraph Examiner Course\, TCOLE # 4013 (February 2 - April 10\, 2026 8am-5pm)
DESCRIPTION:The Pearland Police Department is happy to host the 10-week Polygraph Institute’s Basic Polygraph Examiner Course. \nThe Polygraph Institute offers world class credibility assessment training\, featuring both basic and advanced polygraph\, and forensic interview courses. Our school\, and team of instructors with more than 100 combined years of experience\, have been accredited by the American Polygraph Association and the American Assocation of Police Polygraphists for many years. Our school has an impressive record of multiple accreditation inspections with zero deficiencies. We have trained students from government agencies\, police departments\, sheriff’s offices\, and the private sector from more than sixteen countries worldwide graduating students with an impressive near 100% pass rates for polygraph licensing exams. \nOur basic polygraph examiner course focuses on validated test formats\, the Empirical Scoring System\, and the use of computer-assisted scoring tools to make scientifically-backed decisions regarding truth and deception. Our forensic interview courses emphasize the use of free narrative techniques\, enabling the identification of evidence-based cues to accurately determine truthfulness. For untruthful subjects\, our psychology-based behavioral intervention methods are grounded in scientific approaches\, designed to increase admissions and facilitate a better flow of information. \nOur instructors are the creators of the Single-Issue Screening Test (SIST)\, a cutting-edge format for pre-employment and post-conviction sex offender testing. Known for its strong defensibility in court\, the SIST is widely regarded as one of the most reliable polygraph tests for pre-employment\, tactical polygraph\, and sex offender supervision applications. By attending our courses\, you’ll receive training directly from the developers of this widely-recognized test. \nAdditionally\, we offer an exclusive one-year support period to graduates of our basic examiner course\, ensuring that they have the resources they need to succeed. Enroll in our next course to join the ranks of our highly skilled and confident polygraph examiner graduates. Our school is an advocate for mentoring and proficiency testing for field examiners following graduation. Contact us for these advanced services. \nPolygraph Examiner course flyer\nFor More information click here

Without question\, our training can help save lives (officer and civilian) and reduce the risk of officers being exposed to criminal liability for simply trying to do their job in today’s environment! \nThe tangible results of our training include: \n\nSkills to enhance officer safety\,\nImproved decision-making abilities in time compressed situations\,\nEffective\, informed\, and unbiased force investigations\,\nTraining programs informed by human factor science\nEnhanced officer wellness (short and long-term)\n\nGraham v. Connor\, 490 U.S. 386 (1989)\, provides the evaluative standard for use of force. The court decided force should be judged\, in part\, on the perceptions of an objectively reasonable officer given the totality of the circumstances. Human factors science provides vital information[1] concerning the capabilities and limitations of human beings in environments which are tense\, uncertain\, and rapidly evolving. Given the fact Graham is under attack in many states\, Force Encounters Analysis will add vital information to the discussion when answering the question – WHAT IS REASONABLE? \nTarget Audience \nForce Encounters Analysis is ideal for sworn and professional law enforcement personnel assigned to Patrol\, Corrections\, SWAT\, Investigations\, Professional Standards\, or Training (firearms\, defensive tactics\, force options\, etc.) as well as Supervisors and Command Staff at all levels. This course is appropriate for attendees from law enforcement agencies at the local\, state\, and federal level to include Investigators from agencies such as the District Attorney\, Attorney General\, Inspector General\, etc. \nThe course will also greatly benefit those outside of law enforcement whose work includes: \n\nProsecutors\nCivil attorneys for city\, county\, state\, or federal agencies\nRisk managers\nFor More information click here
