SUMMARY:Tactical Training for Narcotics/Vice Units
DESCRIPTION:The Tactical Training for Narcotics/Vice Units is a five-day (40 hours) training program focusing on the tactical enforcement side of undercover operations. This entry-level class is designed for narcotics officers\, patrol officers and other law enforcement personnel who participate or assist in high-risk related operations. During this program\, students will plan and execute a series of tactical operations to include: “buy bust” operations\, “reverse” operations\, undercover rescue and vehicle takedowns/assaults. During the week\, the student will be participating in live-fire drills geared towards tactical narcotics operations. This training will take place on a certified firearms range with firearm instructors. The class will conclude in the planning and execution of a “multi-kilo drug bust” in which the students will be graded. This training will be especially useful to officers who routinely support their undercover officers in responding to help the undercover or to simply arrest the suspect. The training will also cover the various aspects of “take downs” utilized in Vice and Human Trafficking Operations. Students who are attending the class are asked to bring both their “tactical gear” and “undercover clothing”. \nAttendance is limited. Guy started his narcotics career with street-level tactical units where he participated in several hundred undercover operations over a sixteen-year narcotics career. During this time\, he participated in several long-term undercover operations and was asked to join the DEA as a task force officer. Guy is a member of the Clandestine Laboratory Entrance Team as a certified site safety officer and is tasked with Meth related training for the department. In 2007\, Guy started S.W.A.N. Tactical Training as an organization specializing in narcotics based training for state and federal law enforcement. Since 2007\, Guy has developed and instructed multiple classes related to narcotics and undercover techniques throughout the United States for State and Federal agencies to include: the U.S. Army\, Drug Enforcement Administration\, Nevada and Florida HITDA\, Florida Department of Law Enforcement\, Florida Narcotics Officers Association and the Annual Covert Operations Training Conference (Las Vegas\, NV). Sergeant Daniels served with the 82nd Airborne Division and participated in combat operations in Iraq (Operations(s) Desert Shield and Desert Storm). \nSergeant Brad Echelberger (Ret.)- Brad is a twenty-five veteran of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office with ten years as a SWAT team member. During his tenure with the sheriff’s office he’s held the following positions: Patrolman\, Gang Detective\, Patrol Sergeant\, and Gang Unit Sergeant. For the past ten years Brad has been assigned to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and has held several positions to include; assaulter\, sniper and Sniper Team Leader. During that time\, Brad has participated on numerous callouts\, hundreds of high risk search warrants and countless other tactical operations. Brad has trained and worked with almost every federal law enforcement agency. DESCRIPTION:The Pearland Police Department is proud to host Advanced Financial Crimes\, presented by Public Agency Training Counsil \n\nLaw Enforcement Officers\, Police Crime Analysts\, and Prosecutors will learn of current trends in Financial Crimes. Instruction focuses on identifying the type of financial crime along with collecting and preserving evidence. Students will be introduced on using High-Tech Investigative Techniques to help identify the offender and bringing the offender to the criminal justice system for a successful prosecution. Students will learn the skills needed to conduct internet-based investigations. The proper extraction and handling of video surveillance and mobile phone data will also be discussed. \nStudents will need a laptop or windows tablet (NO IPAD) with internet capability. \nUpon Completion:\nParticipants will know Hi-Tech Investigative techniques that can be used to investigate Financial Crimes. Participants will know of different types of current Financial Crimes and how to investigate each type of crime. No Folding Stocks or Binary Trigger systems allowed. Trigger pull weight must be no less than 3.5 lbs. Short Barrel Rifles must have a barrel length of no less than 10″ and accompanied by your NFA Short Barrel Rifle Tax Stamp. Course design and safety issues are taught as well as principles of marksmanship\, rifle nomenclature and operation. The course emphasizes teaching weapons manipulation and training personnel to fight with a rifle at what are traditionally considered handgun ranges and stand-off distances up to 150 yards. The course is based on the AR-15/M-4/M-16 weapons platform. However\, other systems will be discussed. \nThis course meets Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) requirements #3322 \nSchedule\n\nDay 1 – 8am to 5pm \nDay 2 – 1pm to 9pm  (Depending on Daylight Saving Time) \nDay 3 – 8am to 5pm \nTopics \n\nPatrol Rifle Fundamentals\nMedical Emergencies\nShooting on the move\n\nAudience \n\nCurrently commissioned Texas peace officers\n\nRequirements \nHearing protection\, wrap around eye protection that are safety glasses\, billed cap\, (knee and elbow pads in you need them)\, \nMagazine fed semi-automatic rifle that uses and was manufactured for the use of detachable magazines with sling\, 3 magazines\, magazine pouches and a weapon mounted light. No Folding Stocks.
