SUMMARY:ICC Use of Force (TCOLE# 2107)
DESCRIPTION:This course is designed to meet continuing education requirements put forth by the Commission TCOLE# 2107. Intermediate Use of Force reviews use of force terminology\, concepts\, legislation\, and models through the discussion of scenarios and case studies. The Intermediate Use of Force course ensures all peace officers are trained in force options and their respective legal authorities in order to make appropriate determinations during professional encounters. \nThe goal of this course of instruction is to reintroduce information to students that they may have at one time learned but have since forgotten. It is also to familiarize them with recent legislative changes and court cases that may have an impact on Use of Force decisions. Ultimately the goal of this course of instruction is to help the student to understand where he stands in regards to the decisions he makes regarding his use of force decisions that may ultimately preserve his life or the life of another at the same time not exceeding his legal authority. \nFor More information click here
