DESCRIPTION:Overview:This 2-day\, in-person VALOR training provides sworn officers at all levels with the essentials to survive and thrive in their careers by stressing the importance of being physically and mentally prepared\, maintaining situational awareness\, combating complacency\, and remaining vigilant.\n  \nHear from law enforcement experts on: \n\nCauses of officer assaults\, injuries\, and deaths\nSafety and preparedness mindset\nPhysical health\nOfficer-citizen encounters\nMitigating stress\nWeapon concealment\nIntentional wellness mindset\nSurviving an assault\nCasualty care and rescue tactics\nPersonal protective factors\nDeaths not associated with assaults\nVehicle safety\nAn officer survivor story\n\n  \nAdditional topics covered throughout the course include professionalism\, leadership\, and critical decision-making. \n  \nTraining will be held May 6-7\, 2025\, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.\, CT\, with a 1-hour break for lunch (on your own) each day. \n  \nCertificate of completion for 16 hours available \n  \nThis continuing education activity is approved by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) and deemed valid for the purpose of In-Service training credits with all participating states within the United States.\nAccommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
